Terms of use
Last updated 3 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-03
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using The Bodhi Bank at bank.bodhi.school. They explain what you can do with our activity packs, what you must not do, and what each of us is responsible for. Please read them before you create an account. Back to sign in
The key points
This is a short summary. The full terms below are what apply.
- Who we are: The Bodhi Bank is run by Sheevam Pattni (also known as Shivam Pattni), trading as Bodhi School, a sole trader based in Nottingham, UK.
- Who it is for: teachers, tutors and other education professionals aged 18 or over. It is not for pupils. Each account is for one person and must not be shared.
- It is free: we do not take any payment. If we ever offer paid features, you will only pay if you choose to, after agreeing to separate terms. If we ever move something that is free today into a paid plan, we will email you at least 30 days before.
- What you can do: use, edit, present, print and download our activity packs to teach your own pupils, in class, online, in tutoring sessions and for homework, and give copies to those pupils. You can charge for your teaching, but not for our materials.
- What you must not do: sell our materials, post them publicly or on resource-sharing websites or social media, share your account, download in bulk, use automated tools to copy or collect them, use the materials to train AI, or use them to build a rival resource library.
- Daily limit: you can open up to 50 different activity packs each day. Using a pack again on the same day does not count again. There is no counter on screen, but a message will tell you if you reach the limit.
- Check before you teach: we review our materials carefully, but mistakes can happen. Please use your professional judgement and tell us about any errors. We are not linked to AQA or any other exam board, and we cannot promise exam results.
- No pupil information: never add pupils' names or any other personal information to anything you save or send us.
- Our responsibility: we provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Because it is free, our total liability to you is limited to £100, except for things the law does not let us limit (see section 15).
- If you break the rules: we can limit, suspend or close your account. If we close it because you seriously or repeatedly broke these terms, or gave false details to sign up, you must delete your copies of our materials (see section 14).
- Leaving: you can download your data and delete your account at any time. You can keep using copies you have already downloaded to teach your pupils, unless we close your account because you seriously or repeatedly broke these terms or gave false details to sign up.
- Changes: we email you at least 30 days before important changes to these terms and ask you to accept them (see section 18).
- Your information: our privacy notice explains how we use it.

1. About these terms
In these terms:
- "we", "us" and "our" mean Sheevam Pattni (also known as Shivam Pattni), trading as Bodhi School;
- "you" and "your" mean the person who holds the account;
- "The Bodhi Bank" and "the service" mean the website at bank.bodhi.school and everything on it;
- "the materials" means everything we provide through the service, including activity packs, activities, text, questions, answers, the mark schemes we have written, diagrams and other images, and our content in any file you download or any version you edit. It does not include words or changes that you add yourself;
- "your pupils" means the pupils or students you teach, tutor or support as part of your work, including classes you cover.
How our agreement is made
- You fill in the sign-up form. You can check and correct your details at any point before you select Create account.
- You tick the checkbox to confirm that you are 18 or over, that you agree to these terms and that you have read the privacy notice. You cannot create an account without ticking it.
- We email you a link. When you open it and enter your password to confirm your email address, your account is activated and our agreement starts.
We keep a record of which version of these terms you accepted and when. These terms are available in English only. You can read, print or save them on this page at any time. We keep a copy of every version, and we will send you the version you accepted, or any earlier version, if you ask. We have not signed up to any code of conduct.
If you are a consumer
The Bodhi Bank is designed for professional use, so most people who use it are not "consumers" in law. You are a consumer if you use the service mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession. If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights that these terms do not take away, and some parts of these terms say how they apply to you.
2. Who we are and how to contact us
The Bodhi Bank is provided by Sheevam Pattni (also known as Shivam Pattni), trading as Bodhi School, a sole trader in the UK.
- Postal address: Unit 3C, Oldknows Factory, Egerton Street, Nottingham, NG3 4GQ
- Email for questions, legal notices, privacy, complaints and copyright concerns: privacy@bodhi.school
- Registered with the Information Commission (ICO) under registration number ZB721881
Account emails, such as confirmation and password reset emails, are sent from apps@bodhi.school. To contact us, please use privacy@bodhi.school. We contact you using the email address on your account, so please tell us if it changes.
3. Who can use The Bodhi Bank
To create and keep an account, you must:
- be aged 18 or over;
- be a teacher, tutor or other education professional, or be training to become one, and use The Bodhi Bank for teaching or preparing to teach;
- give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date;
- have only one account.
The Bodhi Bank is not for pupils or students, whatever their age, and they must not create accounts. A student who also works as a tutor may use it in their role as a tutor.
If you use The Bodhi Bank in your work for a school, college or other organisation, you agree to these terms personally, not on behalf of your employer. You are responsible for following your employer's rules on using online resources.
If you stop teaching, tutoring or supporting pupils, please delete your account. You may keep copies you made, for any teaching you still do, under section 8.
The Bodhi Bank is designed for courses taught in the UK. You may use it from other countries, but we do not promise that it suits courses or meets legal requirements elsewhere.
4. Your account and keeping it secure
- Your account is for you alone. Do not share your password or let anyone else sign in to your account, including colleagues, and do not use anyone else's account.
- Use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else. We recommend that you switch on two-step sign-in with an authenticator app, which you can do in your account.
- If you lose access to your authenticator app, contact us at privacy@bodhi.school. We will check that it is you before we turn off two-step sign-in, or we can give you a copy of your data or delete your account for you.
- We will never ask you for your password by email, phone or message.
- If you think someone else has used your account or knows your password, change your password and tell us promptly at privacy@bodhi.school.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account, unless it was not your fault, for example if someone got into your account because of a failure in our security.
5. The Bodhi Bank is free
The Bodhi Bank is free to use. We do not take any payment from you, and we do not ask for payment details.
We may offer paid plans or paid features in future. If we do:
- we will tell you the price and what is included before you decide;
- you will only pay if you choose to, and only after you have agreed to separate terms for that plan or feature at the time;
- we will never start charging you by changing these terms, or because you carry on using the service.
If we decide that content or features you can use for free today will only be available in a paid plan, we will email you at least 30 days before, as described in section 13. You may keep using copies you made before then, under these terms.
6. Fair use limits
To keep The Bodhi Bank free, quick and fair for everyone, and to protect our materials from copying, the service has some limits.
Daily limit on activity packs
- Each account can open up to 50 different activity packs each day.
- A pack counts the first time you open it that day, however you open it, including from search, your starred activities, a link, a saved lesson or your scheme of work. Opening a single activity opens its pack, so it counts as that pack.
- Opening a saved lesson counts each pack its activities come from, unless you have already opened that pack that day.
- Once you have opened a pack, using it again that day does not count again. This includes opening it again, switching between Foundation and Higher, presenting it, printing it and downloading it.
- We do not show a running count. If you reach the limit, a message will tell you that you have reached today's limit.
- The count starts again at midnight UK time.
- If you reach the limit, you can carry on using the packs you have already opened that day.
- To apply this limit and to protect the materials from bulk copying, we keep a record of which packs each account opens each day, as our privacy notice explains.
Other limits
- We limit how often you can do some things in a set time, for example sign in, sign up, reset or change your password, enter two-step sign-in codes, save, edit, search, rate, send feedback, download your data and load materials. Some limits apply to each account and some to each network. If you reach one, please wait and try again. Most limits clear within an hour, but after many wrong two-step sign-in codes you may have to wait until the next day.
- Several people sharing one internet connection, for example at a school, may occasionally reach a network limit together. If this happens, please contact us.
- There are upper limits on how much you can save, such as the number of lessons and edited activities. We set them well above what we expect anyone to need. If you reach one, a message will tell you, and nothing you have already saved is deleted.
You must not try to get round any of these limits, for example by using more than one account. We may raise any limit at any time. If we lower the daily limit on activity packs, or the limits on how much you can save, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, as section 13 explains, unless we must act sooner for legal, security or safety reasons, including to stop misuse that is already happening. Lowering a limit will never delete anything you have already saved. We may adjust the other limits in this section to keep the service secure and working well, but not so that they get in the way of normal teaching use.
7. Who owns the materials
- The materials were created by us and are owned by us, except for any item that says it is used under licence from someone else, where that item's own terms also apply. The materials are protected by copyright. The collection as a whole, including the way it is selected, organised and tagged, may also be protected by copyright and database right.
- The software, design and look of The Bodhi Bank, and the names and logos of The Bodhi Bank and Bodhi School, belong to us or to the people who license them to us.
- We give you permission to use the materials as set out in section 8. We do not transfer any ownership to you, and we keep all rights that these terms do not expressly give you.
- We expressly reserve all rights to use the materials for text and data mining, and for training or developing artificial intelligence (AI), to the fullest extent the law allows.
8. How you may use the materials
We give you a personal, free, non-exclusive permission (a licence) to use the materials for teaching and preparing your own pupils, anywhere in the world, as this section describes and subject to the rules in section 9. It starts when your account is activated and lasts while your account is open. For copies you made before your account closed, it continues after that, unless it ends as section 14 explains. You may not transfer this permission or grant it to anyone else. The permissions below for your pupils, your colleagues and your school, college or tutoring business come directly from us.
You may:
- use and present the materials in lessons, including on classroom screens and interactive whiteboards, and by screen-sharing or on online whiteboards in live online lessons and tutoring sessions;
- show them to colleagues and trainee teachers in department meetings, training and mentoring, as long as you only share copies as "Sharing with colleagues" below allows;
- edit and adapt them, for example to combine activities into lessons, to suit your pupils' needs or to translate them;
- download them in the formats we offer, and keep copies on your own devices and in private storage you use for your work, including storage your school or employer gives you;
- print and copy them as many times as you need for your pupils;
- give copies to your pupils, printed or as files, for classwork, homework and revision, and to their parents or carers where this helps their learning. We give your pupils permission to keep these copies for their own study;
- share them with your pupils online through a class page, learning platform or online whiteboard that only you, your pupils, their parents or carers and the colleagues described below can open, for example one that needs a sign-in. Do not use sharing links that anyone with the link can open;
- use them in other apps you teach with, such as a quiz, flashcard or homework app, as long as what you put there can only be seen by the people listed in the bullet above, and the app does not get the right to publish it, share it with others or use it to train AI. Many apps make new content public unless you change the setting, so please check;
- use them in teaching you are paid for, including private tutoring and paid group classes. You may charge for your teaching, but not for the materials themselves (see section 9).
Sharing with colleagues
You may share copies of particular activities or packs with colleagues at the same school, college or tutoring business, for them to use with pupils there, for example when they cover your class, teach a parallel group or plan lessons with you. In a tutoring business, "colleagues" means people who teach the same pupils as you, or who work with you in the same centre or team, not everyone the business works with. In a group of schools, such as a multi-academy trust, each school counts separately.
We give those colleagues, and your school, college or tutoring business, permission to hold and print the copies you share, and to use them with pupils at that organisation, on the same terms as this section and section 9 apply to you. Your organisation may keep them on its own systems, such as a staff area or a learning platform that only its staff, its pupils and their parents or carers can open, but only for these purposes.
You must not build up a shared collection of our packs for colleagues to use instead of having their own accounts. Colleagues who want to use The Bodhi Bank regularly can create their own free account.
If you leave a school, college or tutoring business
You may keep using your copies to teach your pupils wherever you work next. Copies you shared with colleagues before you left may stay in use for pupils at that organisation, but you must not share any more with them once you have left. Some things you made at work, such as your edits, may belong to your employer. Our materials inside them still belong to us, and your former employer may use them only as this section allows. If your account uses a work email address, ask us to change it before you leave, so that you can still sign in and reset your password.
Lesson recordings
If you record a lesson in which the materials appear, you may share the recording only with the pupils in that class or group, including any who missed the lesson, and their parents or carers, in a way that only they can open. Do not publish or sell recordings that show the materials.
AI apps
You may use an AI app or service to help you adapt an activity for your own pupils, but only if:
- the service does not use what you give it to train or improve AI models, for example a service your school has approved with that setting switched off;
- you give it only what you need for the task, such as one activity or a small part of a pack, and never whole packs; and
- you use the result only as these terms allow.
Copyright notices
Where the materials or our files show our name or a notice saying where they come from, keep it on any copy you make of a whole activity or pack, including edited ones. If you copy a small part, such as one question, into your own resource for your pupils, you do not need to copy the notice. You may add your own name or logo, or your school's.
What the law allows anyway
Nothing in these terms stops you doing anything the law allows you to do without our permission, for example quoting for criticism or review, using extracts to illustrate teaching where the law allows this, or making accessible copies for a disabled person.
9. What you must not do
With the materials
Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, you must not do any of the following, whether the materials are in their original form or edited:
- sell or license the materials, charge anyone for them, or include them in a product that you sell or provide for payment, such as a resource bundle, workbook, revision guide, self-study course or paid subscription. Giving copies to the pupils you teach, as part of your teaching, is fine, even when you charge for the teaching, as long as you do not charge separately for the copies and do not offer them to anyone you do not teach;
- publish them, or upload or post them anywhere that people other than those allowed in section 8 can see them, such as public websites, blogs, resource-sharing or resource-selling websites and marketplaces, social media, public video channels and file-sharing sites;
- use them to create, add to or improve a resource library, product or service that is offered to people outside your own school, college or tutoring business, or that competes with The Bodhi Bank, including by copying, closely adapting or rewording them. This does not stop you writing your own original materials on the same topics, or keeping copies in a staff area as section 8 allows;
- use them, or any part of them, to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark or improve any AI model or system, or to build a dataset for that purpose, or give them to any AI app or service that may use them in this way. Using an AI app as section 8 allows is not a breach of this rule;
- remove, hide or change the notice on a copy of a whole activity or pack, or our name on the materials;
- claim that the materials were written by you or by anyone other than us, or suggest that an exam board has approved them.
With your account and the service
You must not:
- share your account or sign-in details, or let anyone else use your account;
- create more than one account, or create a new account after we have closed one under section 14, without our permission;
- download, copy or save the materials in bulk or systematically. Downloading the packs you plan to use with your pupils, within the daily limit, is not bulk downloading. Bulk downloading means downloading packs to build up your own store of the collection, or of a large part of it, rather than the packs you are going to teach;
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers, scripts or other automated tools, including browser extensions, that open, copy, download or collect the materials or our data automatically or in bulk. Ordinary tools that help you use the website yourself, such as screen readers, text-to-speech and reading tools, password managers, translation and spelling tools and normal browser features, are fine;
- try to get round the daily limit, any other limit, or our sign-in and security measures;
- try to reach anyone else's account or information, or any part of the service you are not meant to reach, or test the security of the service without our written permission;
- damage, disrupt or put excessive demand on the service, or add viruses or other harmful code;
- copy, decompile or reverse engineer the software of the service, except where the law allows;
- give ratings that are not your honest view, for example rating activities you have not looked at;
- send us feedback that is abusive or offensive, or that contains anyone's personal information;
- use the service in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that infringes anyone's rights.
Reporting security problems
If you find a security weakness in The Bodhi Bank, please tell us at privacy@bodhi.school, and do not test it further or share it with anyone else until we have fixed it. We will not close or suspend your account because of a report made in good faith.
10. Your saved work, ratings and feedback
Your saved work
- Your starred activities, lessons, edited activities and scheme-of-work mapping are private to your account. Other users cannot see them. We do not routinely look at them, but we may look at a particular account's saved work to help with a problem you ask us about, or to check a report that it breaks these terms, for example that it contains pupils' personal information.
- Any rights in the words and changes you add stay with you, or with your employer if you made them as part of your job. Our materials inside your edited versions still belong to us, so sections 8 and 9 apply to those parts. You can do what you like with anything that is entirely your own.
- You give us permission to store, copy and process your saved work as needed to run the service and keep it secure, for as long as your account is open and for the time afterwards that we need to delete it, including from backups, as our privacy notice explains. You confirm that you have the right to give us this permission. The privacy notice also explains how we use saved work in totals and summaries.
- Only add text that you have the right to use. We may remove saved work that breaks these terms, for example if it contains pupils' personal information. If we do, we will tell you what we removed and why, unless the law stops us.
- We take reasonable care to keep your saved work safe, but please keep your own copy of anything important, for example by downloading your lessons and edited activities as Word, PowerPoint or PDF files. Download my data on your Account page also gives you a file, in JSON format, of everything saved with your account.
Ratings
- Please only rate activities you have looked at, and give your honest view.
- Other users see how many thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings an activity has had, but never who gave them.
- We do not rate our own activities or add ratings from test accounts. Every genuine rating counts in the totals, and we do not change or hide genuine ratings.
- We may remove ratings that we reasonably believe are not genuine, for example ratings from duplicate accounts.
Feedback
- Thank you for telling us about errors and ideas, with the "Spotted an error/improvement?" button or by email.
- When you send feedback, you give us a free, worldwide, permanent and irrevocable permission to use, copy, edit and adapt it, and to include it in The Bodhi Bank, the materials and our other resources that we make available to others. People who work for us, and anyone who takes over The Bodhi Bank under section 19, may do the same. We do not have to pay you or name you, and we will not name you publicly without your permission. This permission continues after your account closes.
- You confirm that your feedback is your own work, or that you have the right to give us this permission, and that it does not copy exam papers, exam-board mark schemes or other published material. You agree not to object to the way we edit it.
- We may not act on every suggestion.
- If you delete your account, we keep feedback you sent with the button without your name or username. Feedback you emailed us is kept as our privacy notice explains.
11. No personal information about pupils or others
The Bodhi Bank does not need any information about pupils, and it is not designed to hold it. You must not type or paste personal information about pupils or anyone else, such as names, initials, marks linked to a person, or details about health or additional needs, into edited activities, lesson titles, scheme names, feedback or anything else you save or send through the service. You may use general labels, such as a year group or a class code.
If we find information like this, we will delete it. You are responsible for having added it. The Bodhi Bank is not a service for storing pupils' information, and we do not agree to process it for you or your school.
12. Accuracy, exam boards and your professional judgement
- Accuracy: we take care to make the materials accurate and to match the AQA specifications they refer to, and we review them carefully. Even so, mistakes can happen, and specifications and exam guidance change. We do not promise that the materials are free from errors, complete, or suitable for every class or pupil.
- Your judgement: you are the teacher. Please check the materials before you use them, adapt them to your pupils, and follow your school's policies and the latest information from the exam board.
- Practical work: if an activity describes a practical, demonstration or experiment, it is not a risk assessment. Before doing any practical work, carry out your own risk assessment and follow your school's health and safety rules.
- Exam results: using The Bodhi Bank does not guarantee any grade, mark or result.
- Exam boards: The Bodhi Bank is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by AQA or any other exam board. The materials refer to AQA specification point numbers and headings so that you can find what you need; the specifications themselves belong to AQA. AQA is a trade mark of AQA Education. Other exam board names are trade marks of their owners. We use them only to say which courses our materials relate to.
- Past papers and mark schemes: the materials do not include past papers or exam-board mark schemes. The answers and mark schemes in our packs are written by us to support your teaching. They are not official, and exam boards may mark differently.
- Tell us about errors: if you spot a mistake, please use the "Spotted an error/improvement?" button or email us, so that we can correct it for everyone.
13. Changes to the service
Changes we may make
- We keep improving The Bodhi Bank. We may add, change or remove materials, features, exam boards and subjects, and we update materials to correct errors or to follow changes to specifications.
- If we make a change that significantly reduces what you can do, for example removing a main feature, lowering the daily limit or the limits on how much you can save, or moving free content into a paid plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before it happens, by email and with a notice when you sign in. We may make a change sooner if we must for legal, security or safety reasons, including to stop misuse that is already happening, and we will tell you as soon as we can.
- If we remove a pack or activity that you have edited, we will keep your edited version in your account or, if that is not possible, tell you first so that you can download it. Copies you have already downloaded stay usable under section 8.
- If you do not want to carry on after a change, you can download your data and delete your account.
Availability
- We aim to keep The Bodhi Bank available, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free from faults. We may pause it for maintenance, updates or security reasons, and we will try to keep interruptions short.
- You need an internet connection and an up-to-date web browser. Downloaded files are designed to open in common word processing, presentation and PDF apps, but they may look slightly different in different apps, and we cannot promise that they work with every app or device.
If we stop providing The Bodhi Bank
We may stop providing The Bodhi Bank. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, unless that is impossible for reasons outside our control, so that you can download your data. You can keep using copies you have already downloaded, as section 14 explains.
14. Closing or suspending accounts
You can close your account at any time
Use Delete my account on your Account page. Your account closes at once. Within 30 days we delete your personal information and saved work and remove your details from our contact records, as our privacy notice explains. Feedback you sent with the button is kept without your name or username. If you want a copy of your saved work, please download it first.
Accounts we delete automatically
- If you do not confirm your email address within 7 days of signing up, we delete the sign-up.
- If you have not signed in for 2 years, we will email you. If you do not sign in within 30 days of that email, we will delete your account.
When we may suspend or close your account
We may suspend your account, limit its access to the materials, or close it if:
- you break these terms in a serious way, or you keep breaking them after we have warned you;
- you are not eligible to use The Bodhi Bank (see section 3);
- we reasonably believe that your account is being used by someone else, for fraud, to copy or share the materials in breach of section 9, or in a way that puts the security of the service or other users at risk; or
- the law requires us to.
Where we can, we will warn you first and give you a chance to explain or put things right. We will only act without warning where that is necessary: if the problem is serious, if you are not eligible, or if warning you would be unlawful or create a security risk.
We will always tell you promptly by email what we have done and why, unless the law stops us. A suspension or limit lasts only as long as we need to look into the problem or for it to be put right. If you think we have made a mistake, please contact us and we will look at it again.
While your account is suspended, or after we have closed it, you can still ask us at privacy@bodhi.school for a copy of your personal information or to delete your account, as our privacy notice explains. If we close your account because you broke these terms, we keep a short record of this, as our privacy notice explains, so that the account is not simply created again.
Copies you have already downloaded or printed
| If your account closes | What happens to your copies |
|---|---|
| for any reason not in the next row, for example because you deleted it, you had not signed in for 2 years, we stopped providing The Bodhi Bank, or you were no longer eligible through no fault of your own | You may keep using copies you made before it closed, to teach your own pupils, under sections 8 and 9. We will not be able to tell you about later corrections, so please check your copies against the current specification before you use them. |
| because we closed it after you broke these terms in a serious way or kept breaking them after a warning, or because you gave false details to get an account | Your permission to use the materials ends. Within 14 days, you must stop using them, delete or destroy any copies you hold, and remove any you have put on a class page, learning platform, online whiteboard or staff area. Your pupils may keep copies you have already given them, for their own study. |
Sections 7, 8, 9 and 12 (as far as they apply to copies you keep), the feedback part of section 10, this section, and sections 15, 19 and 20 continue to apply after your account closes.
15. Our responsibility to you
- We will provide The Bodhi Bank with reasonable care and skill.
- We describe The Bodhi Bank and the materials honestly. Apart from that, what these terms say and the rights the law gives you, we do not promise that the service or the materials will meet your particular needs.
What we do not limit
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
- If you are a consumer and a file we supplied damages a device or digital content that belongs to you because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. We are not responsible for damage you could have avoided by following advice we gave you, or by keeping your device's security software and apps up to date.
- If you are a consumer, you also keep the rights the law gives you, for example your right to have the service provided with reasonable care and skill, and the right above if a file we supply damages your device.
What we are not responsible for
We are not responsible for:
- losses that were not foreseeable when you accepted these terms. A loss is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen;
- losses to the extent that they were caused by you breaking these terms;
- loss of profits, income, business, contracts or opportunities, because The Bodhi Bank is a free service;
- loss of saved work, to the extent that you could reasonably have avoided it by downloading your own copy, for example by downloading your edited activities and lessons as Word, PowerPoint or PDF files;
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control that we could not have avoided by taking reasonable care, such as a widespread failure of the internet or the power supply, or a cyber attack that happens despite reasonable security measures. A failure by a company we use to run The Bodhi Bank only counts if we chose and managed that company with reasonable care and could not reasonably have worked round the failure. If this happens, we will tell you where we can and do what we reasonably can to limit the effects.
Our overall limit
Because The Bodhi Bank is free, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service or these terms, whether in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to £100. This limit does not apply to anything listed under "What we do not limit" above, including the device-damage remedy, to our responsibilities under data protection law, or to loss caused by our deliberate breach of these terms.
16. Your personal information
Our privacy notice explains how we collect and use personal information, how long we keep it and your rights. It is information for you, not part of these terms, so you are not asked to agree to it.
We send you the emails needed to run your account, including notice of important changes to the service and to these terms, and the other notices these terms promise. We only send you news about our apps if you have chosen to receive it, and you can stop it at any time.
17. Complaints and copyright concerns
Complaints
If you are unhappy with The Bodhi Bank or with us, please tell us first, so that we can try to put things right.
- Email privacy@bodhi.school with "Complaint" in the subject line, or write to us at the address in section 2.
- Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do.
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 10 working days and aim to give you a full reply within 30 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect a reply.
Complaints about how we use personal information are handled as our privacy notice explains, and you can also complain to the ICO. If we cannot resolve a dispute, either of us may take it to court, as section 20 explains.
Copyright concerns
If you think anything in The Bodhi Bank uses your work without permission, or you find our materials published somewhere they should not be, email privacy@bodhi.school with "Copyright" in the subject line. Tell us who you are, which work is affected, where you saw it and why you are concerned. We will acknowledge your message within 10 working days and look into it promptly. Where appropriate, we will remove or change the material, and we will tell you what we have done.
18. Changes to these terms
- We may change these terms only: to reflect changes in the law, regulation or official guidance; to reflect changes to the service under section 13; for security or to prevent misuse; to cover new exam boards, subjects, features or ways of using the materials; or to make them clearer or correct mistakes. Each version has a date and a version number at the top of this page.
- For small changes that do not reduce your rights or add to what you must do, such as correcting mistakes or updating contact details, we will update this page and the version number.
- For important changes, we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect, and we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you use The Bodhi Bank after it takes effect. Until you accept it, the version you accepted still applies to you, but you will only be able to use your Account page to download your data, change your details or password, or delete your account. If you do not want to accept it, you can keep using copies you made before then under the version you accepted.
- If a change has to take effect sooner for legal or security reasons, we will tell you as soon as we can, and we will still ask you to accept it the next time you use The Bodhi Bank.
- Changes to the service made under section 13, including changes to the limits in section 6, follow section 13 and do not need you to accept new terms. We will update section 6 to show any new limit.
- We will not use a change to these terms to start charging you (see section 5).
- You can ask us for a copy of any earlier version.
19. Other legal terms
- Whole agreement: these terms, and any separate terms we agree with you for a paid plan or feature, are the agreement between you and us about The Bodhi Bank. If you are a consumer, anything we told you about The Bodhi Bank before you signed up, and that you relied on, is also part of our agreement, as the law says.
- Transferring this agreement: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example a company set up to run The Bodhi Bank or the Bodhi School business. We will tell you before this happens, and it will not reduce your rights under these terms. If you are unhappy about it, you can delete your account. You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else.
- Other people: this agreement is between you and us. No one else, including your employer or your pupils, can enforce it, but anyone given a permission in section 8 may rely on that permission.
- If part of these terms is not valid: if a court decides that any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Delays: if either of us does not enforce a term immediately, that person can still enforce it later.
- Notices: we send notices to the email address on your account. Please send notices to us at privacy@bodhi.school or by post to the address in section 2.
20. Law and courts
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer who lives in the UK, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, for example the Scottish courts if you live in Scotland or the Northern Irish courts if you live in Northern Ireland. We will only bring legal proceedings against you in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. You also keep any protection given to you by the law where you live that cannot be changed by agreement.
- If you are a consumer who lives outside the UK, you keep any right to bring or defend proceedings in your local courts, and any protection of your local law, that cannot be changed by agreement.
- If you are not a consumer, only the courts of England and Wales may decide any dispute about these terms or the service.
